There is untapped POWER in Communion–power to heal you on the inside AND out.
In 1 Corinthians 11:23-34 there are three familiar pieces that describe what the believer does when they take the Lord’s Supper:
• Remember the blood. (vs. 25)
• Remember the body. (vs. 24)
• Proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. (vs. 26)
To remember His blood is to realize Jesus’ blood atoned for your sins – it paid the debt of our sin, allowing us to enter into right relationship with God. This is the part Christians everywhere get right – they understand Communion reminds them of the blood shed for them on the cross. But that’s not all...
To remember His body is not the same as remembering the blood. It’s a reference to Isaiah 53:5: But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed (NIV).
Don’t be one who assumes the blood and the body represent the same thing, the sacrifice that conquered sin, because it’s more than that. When you discern the body of Christ, you understand the unique and supernatural provision for the healing that His broken body provided for you!Communion is discerning the gift of salvation given through the blood, the gift of HEALING through the broken body and receiving victory through the Lord’s death and resurrection!
To proclaim the victory and receive God’s power is a loud, bold, authoritative declaration! It’s not a proclamation to the person next to us or to God...it’s to the devil who was defeated through the Cross (Colossians 2:15) so you could walk in total freedom, victory and POWER in Christ!
When you celebrate Communion in faith, you PROCLAIM to the devil, “You’re defeated! Your powers don’t work on me! I’m with Jesus, and He’s already defeated you!” That’s SO MUCH MORE than a church ritual and that’s what we are to celebrate! Receive by faith the healing ALREADY provided for you.
